Here's a real hapatong - life size, carved from the length of a tree trunk.
Yukiko chose it for her submission to the 2021 Bouquets to Art exhibition at San Francisco's de Young Museum
This funerary statue personifies a particular ancestral spirit or deity that brought good fortune, dispelled evil spirits - possibly used in malagan ceremony.
Her offering bouquet appears in foreground. Materials used include:
Proton, Kalanchoe, Star of Bethleham, Equisitum, Curly Willow, Love-in-a-Mist, Anthurium.
Yukiko's newest arrangement will appear at the 2022 Bouquets to Art -- June 7 to 13 in Gallery 3, de Young Museum.
Superior floral designs are their own best branding, so she publishes their images on this website, Google Search and Yelp.
And, of course, Yukiko's primary audience is flower lovers of Marin County.
