Fourteen points in the morning sun
Bull Elk Portraits
Spike bull grooms himself in morning sun.
Face of spike bull (yearling) in morning sun.
Band of bulls, after the rut.
Harem bull in rut, Pacific Ocean in background.
Harem bull bugling in rut.
The harem bull at right  is bugling to keep his
cows under control and warn off all other bulls.
He has been thrashing to collect weeds in his
antlers, making himself look bigger and more
powerful.  The dark stain along his lower flank
is his own urine, enhancing his sexual allure.
