Valentine ~ Original 6 foot tall bouquet by Yukiko sets theme for buffet at Smith Ranch Homes

Tall quince bouquet shown above is installed for Valentine’s  in Smith Ranch’s high ceiling dining room, on a buffet counter top — soon to be surrounded with trays of food and beverages.

In homes with regular ceilings, 5′ or 6′ bouquets are often positioned on  large coffee tables.

Either way, Yukiko’s tall designs establish the theme and tone for gatherings of friends and parties.

Rich design of red peonies, anthuriums, harakeke and orchids set the upbeat tone of the gathering with distinctive Hawaiian influence.
This fulsome arrangement is taller than typical centerpieces, because it is placed on a large, low coffee table in the center of the room.
Let the party begin!

Hawaiian Celebration

Hawaiian islanders living now in Marin wanted a long and low centerpiece with the flavor of the Islands. Yukiko’s centerpiece design here brings together white peonies, anthuriums, phaelanopsis and other orchids on a bed of green leaves.
Tropical and Hawaiian flowers are often arranged in tall designs to heighten the drama of their sharp, angular shapes and vibrant colors. This long and low arrangement in whites and green expresses a subtle feeling of the Islands.

Amaranthus, anthurium, orchid, angel ivy and harakeke floral design in two views.

So, one must be the front and the other one must be the back.  But which?

Oakland, California – March 2010

Roses and lilies were requested by client as centerpiece designed for large dinner table in Kentfield.  Curly willow, Hawaiian ti leaves, variegated ivy, nandina and lily grass complete the horizontal flower arrangement.

Centerpiece for winter dinner party is designed with pine needles and cones supporting oriental lilies and silvered magnolia leaves.

Yukiko designs floral themes for dinner parties and special events, in which the centerpiece sets or reflects the tone.  Selected centerpieces are shown on her website.
